EU Regulation for organic products
Dear clients, in 2018, the Council of the EU approved Regulation (EU) 2018/848, which sets out the principles, objectives and comprehensive rules for organic farming and defining how organic products should be labelled. This Regulation replaced Regulation (EU) No 834/2007 to be applied, as from 1 January 2022, supplemented by a number of Commission Delegated Regulations and Implementing Regulations relating to the production, sale and marketing of organic products. All these acts provide the legal basis for the ecologically marketable of goods within the EU, including those imported from non-EU countries. The standards also specify how and when the EU ecological logo can be used. Customer benefits Organic farming is an agricultural method aimed at producing food using natural substances and processes. This means that organic farming generally has a limited impact on the environment.
